About the artist:
In January 2015, Valeriy enlisted as a volunteer and took part in combat operations in Donbas as part of the battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps. Before the full-scale Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, he worked as a screenwriter but is now serving in Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Combining service with art, he paints on the lids of ammunition boxes. His paintings and art have been presented in various exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad such as “Incubation Period”, “Echoes”, “Ghost Zone”, and “My Army. To see with the heart.” His work is held in private collectors in Canada, Great Britain, the USA, Ukraine, Sweden, and others. Laureate of literary competitions, his texts were highlighted by Ukrainian art agencies “Smoloskip” and “Granoslov”, he won a literary prize named after Oles Ulyanenko.
Author of 10 books, he also directed short documentaries and video poems.
